A Major Step in Tackling Climate Change: "The Project for Developing a Monitoring and Evaluation System for Climate Change Adaptation"
✏️ Why This Project Is Needed
1. Responding to the Impacts of Climate Change Thailand continues to face challenges such as rising temperatures, drought, heavy rainfall, and increasingly severe natural disasters. A monitoring and evaluation system is therefore essential for planning effective adaptation measures.
2. Systematic Data Collection and Management Climate change adaptation data is currently scattered across multiple agencies. This project helps establish a central database to consolidate, store, and interconnect data in a way that is easily accessible and standardized.
3. Supporting Policy Analysis and Decision-Making The use of technologies such as Big Data and Data Visualization enables the analysis of complex datasets, which can then inform the development of appropriate policies and response measures.
4. Tracking and Evaluating National Progress This system enables continuous monitoring of progress in implementing the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) for climate change.
5. Fulfilling International Commitments The project supports reporting and implementation under international cooperation frameworks, such as the Biennial Transparency Reports and the achievement of global adaptation goals by 2030.
❤️ Core Principles
The Climate Change Adaptation Monitoring and Evaluation System is, in essence, "the creation of a standardized data collection system that serves as a shared compass for everyone in planning and responding to global warming together."
